Even though I was not born in Central America, every time I come I feel home. Here in Honduras it has been an honor to sit and hear stories of strong activists fighting against corruption, for land rights, defending the rights of the migrants, and working against violence. I am reminded once again of the strong history of radical social programs and peoples movements here in Latin America. A history we cannot forget because at the same time there is also a long history of dictatorships and corruption. I’m also reminded of the intense relationship Central America has with the United States and all that our country has done to undermine people’s movements here. We must reject this and stand in solidarity with the people of Central America
